Launched in 1991 in Japan under the name of Hercules, it was used together with its twin Hermes on local connections. In 1999 she was sold, also in pairs with her twin sister, to the Greek Anek Lines, who underwent renovation work at the Perama shipyards. It was later renamed Lefka Ori (after a mountain range on the island of Crete) before entering service in the summer of 2000. It was introduced by Anek Lines on a connection between Trieste, Igoumenitsa, Corfu and Patras together with the twin Sophokles V. until 2005, when the Italian port of call passed to Venice where the ferry was permanently employed by Anek Lines on this route until February 2012. In 2015 the ship was renamed Blue Galaxy and chartered to Blue Star Ferries, entering service on routes to and from Crete after undergoing renovations. In 2024, with the acquisition of Anek Lines by the Attica group, he returned to the Cretan company taking the name Kissamos.
