Launched in 1996 under the name Rainbow Bell at the Japanese shipyard in Shimonoseki, it was purchased in 2006 by the Greek company Hellenic Seaways, part of the Attica Group, and was renamed Ariadne. It was mainly used on domestic routes between Piraeus and the islands of Chios, Mytilini and Rhodes. Since 2023, it has been operated by Superfast Ferries, of the Attica group, and connects the Italian ports of Ancona and Venice with the Greek ports of Igoumenitsa and Patras. It has a capacity of 2,045 passengers and offers various services on board including bar, self-service, a la carte restaurant and video games.
